Accountabilities: The Retirement Plan Document/Design Manager will oversee a team of plan document specialists while serving as a subject matter expert in retirement plan documentation, interpretation, and operational execution. This role combines team leadership, project management, compliance support, and client service excellence.

Lead and develop a team of retirement plan document professionals through coaching, mentoring, performance guidance, and ongoing support.

Manage team priorities, workload distribution, and project execution to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality deliverables.

Oversee complex plan document projects, including restatements and process initiatives impacting retirement plan operations.

Monitor team performance, identify training needs, and partner with leadership on development plans, recognition, and performance management.

Provide expert guidance on retirement plan provisions, document interpretation, and operational application.

Support internal and external escalations by analyzing issues, recommending solutions, and coordinating timely resolutions.

Collaborate with compliance, operations, and cross-functional teams to maintain service standards and regulatory requirements.

Participate in audits, process reviews, procedure updates, and implementation of operational improvements.

Support onboarding and training initiatives to strengthen team capabilities and knowledge sharing.

Identify opportunities to improve workflows, increase efficiency, and enhance the overall client experience.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong retirement plan expertise, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to operational excellence. This professional should be comfortable managing competing priorities, solving technical challenges, and building strong relationships with internal and external partners.

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Demonstrated leadership experience through direct management, mentoring, coaching, or peer guidance in a collaborative environment.

Strong knowledge of retirement plan documents, provisions, interpretation, and administrative requirements.

QKA (Qualified 401(k) Administrator) credential strongly preferred, or equivalent retirement plan expertise with willingness to pursue certification.

Experience managing projects, process improvements, or operational initiatives.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and stakeholder needs.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

Ability to interpret technical documentation, analyze issues, and resolve complex problems.

Strong relationship-building skills with clients, internal teams, and business partners.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and business productivity tools.

Self-directed work style with the ability to make decisions and manage priorities independently.

Competitive compensation package with a base salary range of approximately $95,000–$105,000 , based on experience.
