The Role: Distribution Inventory Controller - Contract
Availability: Full-time with an ability to work mornings, afternoons, and occasional overtime, holidays, and weekends.
Reporting to the Room Manager, the Inventory Controller is responsible for maintaining all incoming and outgoing inventory for the department. This includes the request of raw materials, produce as well as sundries required by the Compounders and Production Assistants to produce Lush products. In the process, Inventory Controllers ensure that their rooms have all products they require on hand and do so while keeping costs as low as possible and within room-specific budgets. What you do (Responsibilities):
Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory for the department
Work with Purchase Order and Transfer Order receivers to ensure lines are received, and discrepancies are fixed and reported
Ensure purchase orders and transfer orders are shipped correctly
Able to fix inventory using handheld scanners/AX
Coach and train staff in relation to inventory best practices within the department
Compile and publish inventory reports
Manage inventory organization and labelling systems
Partner with leadership to manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies, and discrepancies are addressed and resolved
Oversee regular inventory cycle counts to ensure accuracy
Execute year-end count; work alongside auditors to answer questions and facilitate audit
Able to work collaboratively with other departments and other areas of the business
Accurate and timely product write-off (withdrawn, expired, discontinued, etc.) following established SOPs for DAX coding and collaborating with forecasting and donations teams where possible
Oversee FIFO best practices with on-hand inventory
Ensuring handling and storage compliance for organic products and assisting with the auditing process
Working with Operations teams on determining suitable picking homes for picking efficiency and accuracy
Distro/Goods-In Specific Responsibilities:
Monitor and re-call inventory stock and execute 3rd party logistics as required
Maintain storage of and arrange pick-ups for the black pot program
Collaborate with other teams (production rooms, demand planning, item setup, systems) to resolve inventory issues
Support the shipping of TDG for Ground, Air, and Ocean orders
Digital-Specific Responsibilities:
Order CA and QC labels
Daily monitor of sales orders to support the effective creation of prep lists
Monitor the inventory of samples and perfumes, coordinating with Distro when needed
Support with fulfilling and sending out PR orders
Support with the shipping of TDG for Ground and Air orders
Receive Transfer Orders from Distro
Work with the demand forecast and arrange the stock
Monitor the sales orders from AX and OMS to ensure inventory accuracy
Collaborate with Order Desk and the Distro team to get stock information on Oversold and Out of Stock (OOS) items
Provide feedback to manufacturing rooms as required regarding potential quality concerns
Set and review pick locations min and max
Support with UA testing of OMS/WMS inventory tools
Who you are (Qualifications):
Required:
Current Lush employee
Has held current role for a minimum of 1 year
Familiar with ERP/MRP systems such as AX/D365
Flexibility within the Distribution, Digital, and Manufacturing businesses as required
Able to do physical work for 8-hour shifts, on your feet, and lift 50 pounds
Capable of physical activities such as standing for long durations, bending down, pulling, and pushing
Knowledgeable of inventory best practices
Able to compile basic reports for analysis
Able to investigate and problem-solve solutions to variances
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
Able to assess situations and implement solutions
Confident with basic mathematics, ability to count, including addition and subtraction
Able to navigate email and MS Office suite and Google programs (i.e., Sheets, Chat, Meet)
Reliable, consistent attendance, punctual, and dependable
Comfortable providing and receiving feedback
Commitment to abide by and oversee health & safety regulations (i.e., WHMIS label comprehension)
Commitment to abide by and oversee good quality and good manufacturing practices, such as: in/out freshness procedures, test batch processes, checking raw materials, and quality conversations
Accustomed to working in a highly seasonal, high-pressure production environment
Comfortable with reading, writing, and speaking English in order to communicate with peers and leadership on all platforms (i.e. in person, via email, via Google/Teams chat)
Preferred:
Current employees of Distro/Goods-In/Digital
Understand how to ship and receive Purchase Orders and Transfer Orders
Able to perform advanced-level Excel functions
Previous experience as a Lush Inventory Controller or Production Planner (seasonally or core)
Experience working in a team-oriented environment
Able to work afternoon shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays
