We Build What Matters.
As an Industrial Controls PreConProject Manager at Felix Construction, you will be responsible for the estimating, planning, and budgeting of control system projects to ensure they are completed successfully. This client-facing role is integral to the Industrial Controls Group and contributes directly to the creation of world-class industrial control systems. You will collaborate with end-users, engineers, designers, other project managers, and panel fabricators to ensure systems meet the highest quality standards. The position offers opportunities to make an impact while working on a wide variety of projects to solve challenging applications. This role reports directly to the Director of Industrial Automation and Controls, who will provide guidance and support as you help drive Felix's continued success in the industrial construction industry.
What You'll Do Attend project site visits and pre-bid meetings to determine project scope
Interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, and specifications
Generate internal project documentation, budgets, and invoice schedules
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and vendors
Work onsite at the Felix office on the west side of Phoenix, AZ
Coordinate project teams including engineers, designers, technicians and stakeholders
Represent company at professional trade shows and conferences
Prepare estimates and proposals
Coordinate with suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing for components
Who You Are 4-year engineering degree, project or construction management degree or equivalent work experience
5+ years of experience in industrial electrical controls, automation, or UL508A panel shop
Attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
Client-facing, positive attitude
Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Complete pre-employment drug screen
Must have the legal right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship indefinitely
Ability to take initiative and work autonomously
Strong oral and written communication skills in the English language
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to: Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint
