Description

Tasks and responsibilities

Provide first-line technical support for communications equipment across Control Risks Iraq operations.

Conduct fault finding, testing and basic diagnostics on Motorola handheld radios, Motorola vehicle-mounted radios, HF systems, UHF/VHF systems, TETRA radios, satellite phones, antennas, chargers, batteries and related accessories.

Assist with the installation, removal, inspection and testing of vehicle-mounted communications systems, including Motorola radios, HF/UHF equipment, antennas, speakers, microphones, power cables and mounting kits.

Support the installation, testing and troubleshooting of IVMS and vehicle tracking systems.

Conduct daily, weekly and monthly checks on communications equipment to confirm serviceability, battery condition, signal performance and operational readiness.

Maintain accurate electronic communications equipment records, including issue, return, inspection, fault reports, serial numbers and serviceability status.

Support project teams with communications-related issues, including radio checks, tracking device checks, signal issues and vehicle system faults.

Assist in programming, checking and preparing radios and communication equipment for project deployment, where authorised.

Ensure all communications and tracking equipment is correctly labelled, stored, charged, tested and ready for operational use.

Support the management of sensitive communications equipment in line with company procedures and local GoI/MoI requirements.

Liaise with suppliers, internal departments and project teams regarding communications equipment, repairs, installations and technical support.

Deputise for the Communications Manager when required, within agreed authority and capability.

Conduct any reasonable communications or technical equipment task requested by the Equipment management team.

Assist with project logistics support, including preparation of mobilisation and de-mobilisation of projects.

Maintain accurate logistics accounts across all commodity types.

Maintenance and delivery of equipment and materials, minimum stock levels, perform daily, weekly and monthly checks.

Requirements

Essential

Good interpersonal skills and ability to liaise effectively with Iraqi agencies and suppliers.

Good English language skills, spoken and written.

IT literate, including Word and Excel.

Use of computer-based accounting systems.

Familiar with IVMS, tracking and communication systems fitted to vehicles.

Familiar with vehicle electrical systems and communications integration.

Preferred

Experience with software-based accounting systems.

Knowledge of Iraqi cultural norms and business etiquette.

Must maintain a neat and tidy appearance and always be presented well.

Qualifications and specialist skills

IT literate, including Word and Excel.

Use of computer-based accounting systems.

Familiar with IVMS, tracking and communication systems fitted to vehicles.

Good English language skills, spoken and written.
