Senior QC Engineer (Software Testing)

Responsibilities

Perform tests: perform a variety of tests such as smoke, regression, integration, performance, cross browser, cross platform, and responsive testing (PC, mobile, and tablet), API testing, and any needed test per the test plan to confirm the stability of software systems.

Report bugs: report clear bugs and track them using tools like DevOps.

Perform automation: generate automation scripts. Research and use tools with the goal of increasing automation.

Work with team members: work collaboratively with QC, development, and business groups to complete testing.

Design test case: create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases, and review test cases written by joiners or mid-level staff.

Send test results report after confirming it with QA lead.

Documentation: build project documentation such as user manuals.

Participate in full life cycle development.

Perform business requirements review and verification.

Problem solving.

Static testing.

Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT).

Performance testing.

Mentor and train junior quality control engineers on policies and procedures and create tasks for them.

Identify the root cause of quality problems and coordinate modifications or other corrective actions.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Architect new automated test strategies and frameworks, in addition to creating, implementing, and automating testing in support of software test requirements.

Develop, maintain, and enhance the test automation framework and automation infrastructure.

Execute and report on planned tests, report and manage defects, and regress software fixes for new and existing products.

Assist development with replicating and debugging problems and develop new test automation solutions as needed.

Demonstrate innovation, leadership, and mentorship skills in addition to possessing a strong technical and programming/test automation skill set.

May assist with performance evaluations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or information technology, or equivalent education and work experience.

Professional certification, such as ISTQB-CTFL or ISTQB-CTAL.

Problem-solving skills: QC testers have strong problem-solving skills that allow them to test software, identify bugs, and solve errors.

Automation experience: hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver. Experience developing automation scripts.

Familiarity with testing: QC testers are knowledgeable of testing phases and approaches, including functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end.

Programming: QC testers may use programming languages to write tests as necessary, so they should have experience programming and coding.

Teamwork: working with other groups, QC testers have strong communication skills that allow them to collaborate with others. They communicate problems and coordinate with QC, development, and business groups to ensure products are free of errors.

Able to multi-task, triage issues, react well to changes, work independently or in a team setting in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to travel outside Jordan according to business needs.

Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Hands-on experience with SQL commands.
