🧵 Textile & Craft Artists: Get Paid to Talk About What You Do Love sewing, knitting, crocheting, leathercrafting, making jewelry, or creating handmade items? Show us your skills and talk us through them step by step. We are recruiting experienced crafters, textile artists, makers, artisans, and creative hobbyists for a flexible paid video recording project. Using our app and a phone head mount, you will record first-person (POV) videos while working on real textile, craft, and handmade projects and talk through what you are doing step by step.

🎙️ Show Us What You Do — and Talk Us Through It Imagine you are teaching someone who cannot see what you are doing. As you work on your craft, narrate the entire process. Tell us:

• What you are making, repairing, or creating
• What tools, materials, and supplies you are using
• What you are doing at each step
• What you see, hear, feel, or notice
• What techniques you are using and why
• How you select your materials, colors, patterns, or designs
• What you are measuring, cutting, stitching, shaping, or assembling
• How you position and handle your materials
• What you are checking for as you work
• How you know whether something is coming together correctly
• What mistakes or challenges you encounter and how you correct them
• What you would change or improve
• What you are going to do next

For example, while sewing “I am measuring the fabric to make sure I have enough material for this piece. I am lining up the edges and securing them with pins before cutting. Now I am using fabric scissors to cut along the marked line. I am checking that the edges are even before moving to the sewing machine…” For example, while crocheting: “I am making a small crocheted basket using cotton yarn. I am inserting my hook into the next stitch, wrapping the yarn around the hook, and pulling it through. I notice this stitch is a little tight, so I am loosening my tension slightly before continuing…” You do not need to sound scripted or formal. Just talk naturally and continuously as you work.

• Following knitting or crochet patterns
• Fixing dropped stitches or mistakes
• Blocking and finishing projects

• Setting up a loom
• Preparing and threading yarn
• Warping a loom
• Weaving different patterns
• Adjusting yarn tension
• Changing colors and textures
• Creating woven textiles or accessories
• Removing and finishing woven pieces
• Maintaining and organizing weaving equipment

👜 Leathercrafting

• Measuring and cutting leather
• Creating wallets, belts, bags, or accessories
• Marking and punching stitching holes
• Hand stitching leather
• Installing snaps, rivets, and hardware
• Edge beveling and burnishing
• Dyeing and finishing leather
• Assembling leather components
• Repairing leather items

• Measuring and cutting paper

💍 Jewelry Making

• Designing and assembling jewelry
• Stringing beads

• Attaching clasps and findings
• Working with jewelry pliers and hand tools
• Measuring and cutting jewelry wire
• Polishing and finishing pieces
• Repairing or modifying jewelry

• Preparing and wedging clay
• Hand-building pottery
• Wheel throwing
• Shaping and molding clay
• Sculpting ceramic objects
• Trimming and refining pottery
• Adding handles and decorative details
• Glazing and painting ceramics
• Preparing pottery tools and materials
• Cleaning and organizing the workspace

🎨 Other Handmade Crafts We also welcome other hands-on textile and craft activities, including embroidery, cross-stitch, macramé, felting, basket weaving, candle making, and other creative projects. Tell us what you enjoy making and what you can demonstrate while narrating. The goal is not simply to show us your finished creation. We want you to talk us through the entire process, including your techniques, hand movements, decisions, adjustments, and problem-solving.

Requirements

• Experience with sewing, textiles, crafts, or other handmade projects
• Comfortable talking continuously while working
• Smartphone
• Phone head mount
• Approximately 10 hours available for the assignment

**You must be 18 or older. Only perform activities you are experienced and comfortable performing, using appropriate safety practices. Record only in locations where you have permission. Do not record other people without their consent, private information, confidential workplace materials, or copyrighted content without authorization. Application does not guarantee selection. Compensation is based on approved qualifying videos and hours that meet assignment requirements.
