Legal Counsel, Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT)

Critical competencies for the position As Legal Counsel, you shall have a Masters of Law and a minimum of ten years solid legal experience from a law firm, as in-house legal counsel or from an equivalent position. Previous experience from dispute resolution is essential. Also, high proficiency in drafting and negotiating complex international contracts together with solid experience and knowledge in contract and commercial law are very important requirements. Experience from competition law and export control is a merit. It is also considered positive if you have previous experience for the automotive industry.

You should also have strong personal credibility, integrity and a can-do mind set with high drive and energy and be capable of performing multiple duties effectively in a fast paced environment. Distinctive problem-solving abilities, good ability to quickly assess new situations, genuine business interest and communication skills are also pre-requisites for this position. Excellent English communication skills, both orally and in writing are essential.

We are recruiting an experienced Legal Counsel to the GTT Legal team in Gothenburg. As Legal Counsel your main responsibility will be to provide legal support in the full range of GTT legal matters in an international working environment. You will report to the GTT SVP Legal & Volvo Group IP. The position will require travelling from time to time.

Main activities and responsibilities Main responsible for supplier warranty recovery litigations and to provide legal support to the supplier warranty recovery team General legal advice and support to the daily business operations, which include drafting and negotiating many different types of research-, cooperation- and development agreements, technology license agreements and joint venture agreements, but also support with respect to IPR matters and open source Legal advice and training regarding various compliance issues, such as competition law and export control, including the Volvo Group’s compliance policies and guidelines as well as applicable laws and regulations Advice and guidance on legal risks associated with various alternatives for achieving business objectives Internal training on various legal issues, but also develop and update template agreements
