Head of Maintenance

One of our esteemed Flexible Packaging Client based at Nigeria is looking for Head Maintenance, An incumbent should be BE Mech / Electrical and should have handled Electrical/Mechanical and Utilities Maintaintenance in a similar type of Plant. Short JD for this Position is given below herewith;

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Conduct repairs and maintenance in order to:

Duties to include; preventative maintenance on machines and equipment; as well as responding to emergency machine break downs throughout the plant; Involvement with new design, installation and movements of existing machines; Overhaul and repair of machines and equipment. Ensuring machines and equipment on site are safe, working efficiently and fit for purpose.

Perform to quality, waste, and production standards and goals

Meet or exceed the customers (both internal and external) expectationsMeet the highest of quality standards

Communicate orally and/or in writing to other departments for resolution of mechanical problems, reporting defective material, coordination of job preparations, changeovers and daily shift information

Report production accurately and timely including waste, WIP, time codes, raw materials, etc.

Ensure your own safety while operating the machine and that of those assisting with operations

Manage the duties of a manager including but not limited to:

Design, promote, and carry out Preventative Maintenance

Ensure all machines are safe and fit for purpose

Installation of new machines and equipment

Overhaul, upkeep and repair of all plant machines.

Review and advise on Engineering requirements and drawings

Work with and Coordinate Contractors

Undertake repairs and servicing to the highest standard in accordance with work requests and predetermined specifications

Fault Finding, testing, and the removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures and parts

Where a detailed specification is not provided, determine the cause of the fault and then undertake the most cost-effective solution to remedy the defect.

Statutory compliance from the maintenance side. (As per IMS & Occupational Health and Safety Regulation Act.)

The following will be covered under area responsibility

Major problems in the Area of each individual should be noted down in an open point list.

Down time /Frequency of breakdown in their areas.

Spare parts consumed and status of spare parts availability along with complete spare part list of respective Machine /Area.

Action plan for repetitive nature problems and open point list.

Kaizens from respective area.

History register of area to be updated

Respective area all documents, drawings, manuals & programs or parameters availability.

Job Requirements:

16+ years of experience repairing and maintaining equipment in the Flexible packaging industry (Blown film extrusion field preferred)
