This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoW Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as an Mobile Equipment Operator Supervisor providing and maintaining training facilities for Range Operations.

Major duties

  • Plans and supervises the use of workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a day-to-day, project-by-project, and long-term basis.
  • Evaluates progress of work to ensure quality and quantity meet standards.
  • Ensures operational maintenance of range roads, grounds, facilities, targets, and related training support services for field range training conducted by military personnel and others.
  • Conducts and supervises the repair of different types of heavy and light equipment.
  • Conducts and supervises the repair of existing parts or making replacement parts for the machinery and equipment on ranges (e.g., targets).
  • Inspects operation of machinery and equipment to ensure they are properly maintained and productively operated.
  • Supervises and directs the oversight of employees assigned to a work team.
  • Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, planning work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by superiors.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Mobile Equipment Operator Supervisor ~ without more than normal supervision. Performing common Mobile Equipment Operator Supervisor duties to perform heavy and light equipment repair. Administers machine shop tools and welding equipment to accomplish machine work necessary to complete repairs. I can replace generators, water pumps, hoses, belts, switches, and light bulbs. I am skilled in conducting the repair of different types of heavy and light equipment (e.g., bulldozer, front-end loader, crane, grader) to I can perform carpentry work through the use of hand and power tools typical of the carpentry trade. I can plan and layout out work in accordance with drawings, sketches, and blueprints for construction or repairs. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Efforts: The operation, repair, maintenance and supervision of heavy and light equipment. Working Conditions: Consists of working outdoors and requires working in inclement weather and environmental conditions specific to Range Operations.
