Senior Java Spark Developer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer (8+ years) with strong expertise in Java 17/21, Spring Boot, MS SQL, Unix, Docker/Kubernetes, Apache Spark and CI/CD.

Mandatory Skill-set

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, IS, or IT is preferred.
• Must have 8 years’ relevant experience in software development and testing;
• Must have experience in to Apache Spark, Kubernetes and Docker;
• Hands on experience in to Java 17/21, Spring boot, Unix shell scripting, and MS SQL;
• Knowledge on both frontend and backend development;
• In-depth knowledge on Relational databases – MS SQL Server, Sql profiler, query analyzer;
• Knowledge of scheduling tools (Airflow, Control-M);
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab/ ArgoCD or similar);
• Good understanding & working knowledge of Agile/Scrum.

Desired Skill-set

• Knowledge or experience in Risk Management / Risk domain, banking domain.
• Exposure to Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), particularly for data processing and analytics;

Responsibilities

• Deliver fully tested source code complying with quality indicators objectives.
• Address technical aspects with Architect and functional aspects with business analysts;
• Liaise with business analysts for clarification and understanding of requirements;
• Solution design using proven patterns, awareness of anti-patterns, performance tuning;
• Analyze technical constraints considering functional impact;
• Organize and take ownership of detailed technical documentation;
• Provide detailed estimation for development of solution;
• Develop test strategy in coordination with project manager / business analysts;
• Perform design and code review for other team members;
• Mentor junior team members;
• Be proactive and ensure a continuous improvement mindset for the team;
• Work in a fast-paced Agile work environment;
• Report code quality indicators to Project manager / Team head periodically;
• Adhoc duties as assigned.
