DRIVER

Job Description

The Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation, collection, and delivery of goods and freight to and from designated locations. The role involves operating company or assigned commercial vehicles, handling cargo, completing delivery documentation, and coordinating with customers and the operations team to ensure smooth transportation services.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company or assigned commercial vehicles to transport goods and freight.
• Collect and deliver cargo to customers, warehouses, distribution centres, ports, and other designated locations.
• Follow assigned delivery schedules, routes, and transportation instructions.
• Ensure goods are properly loaded, secured, transported, and unloaded to prevent damage or loss.
• Check cargo quantities, delivery details, and relevant documentation before and after each trip.
• Assist with loading and unloading of goods when required.
• Obtain signatures, delivery orders, proof of delivery, and other necessary documents.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle-related activities.
• Communicate with the operations team regarding delivery schedules, traffic conditions, delays, or changes in arrangements.
• Liaise professionally with customers, warehouse personnel, transport coordinators, and other relevant parties.
• Report accidents, vehicle breakdowns, cargo damage, delivery issues, or other incidents immediately to the supervisor.
• Conduct basic vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is maintained in safe and roadworthy condition.
• Keep the vehicle clean and properly maintained.
• Comply with traffic laws, road safety requirements, company policies, and applicable transportation regulations.
• Ensure all cargo is handled responsibly and delivered within the agreed timeframe.
• Perform other transportation and logistics-related duties as assigned by management.
