Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

1. Design, build, and maintain backend services in Go
2. Design and implement REST APIs and gRPC services for internal and external consumers
3. Model and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and migrations
4. Implement caching strategies to improve latency and reduce database load
5. Containerize services with Docker and support deployment pipelines
6. Ensure data integrity, idempotency, and correct handling of financial transactions
7. Write tests, participate in code reviews, and contribute to technical documentation

Qualifications:

1. 1-2 years of backend engineering experience, preferably in fintech
2. Strong PostgreSQL skills, including schema design, query optimization, transactions, and migrations
3. Familiar with caching using Redis or equivalent, along with REST and gRPC API design
4. Comfortable working with Docker for containerized services
5. Solid Git workflow, including branching, pull requests, and code review
6. Understands fintech engineering practices such as idempotency, decimal precision for monetary values, audit logging, and safe concurrent transactions
7. Good communicator, proactive in flagging blockers, and open to learning new technologies
