Accountabilities: Assist attorneys and paralegals with a broad range of Patent and Trademark matters, including preparation, docketing, electronic filing, portfolio management, and application maintenance.

Research and compile information relating to national and international intellectual property rights.

Prepare status reports and summaries for attorneys and clients, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.

Coordinate international filings with foreign law firms, offices, and other international entities.

Maintain accurate docket information and monitor deadlines for responses, renewals, oppositions, affidavits, Patent Cooperation Treaty requirements, patent annuity payments, and other IP-related actions.

Support document management activities, including scanning, photocopying, filing, data entry, and courier coordination.

Enter and maintain matter information in applicable legal and docketing software.

Maintain working knowledge of Patent and Trademark concepts, practices, procedures, and filing requirements.

Leverage legal AI tools where appropriate and remain adaptable to emerging technologies and new AI-enabled workflows.

Deliver responsive and professional service to internal and external stakeholders while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Prioritize workflows, manage competing deadlines, and exercise sound judgment when handling time-sensitive matters.

Meet an annual target of approximately 1,000 billable hours and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

At least one year of patent experience is preferred.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, paralegals, clients, and other stakeholders.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office , particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Experience with electronic legal filings is preferred.

Familiarity with Patent and Trademark concepts, practices, and procedures.

Interest in and/or experience adopting legal AI tools, with the ability to learn and implement new technologies.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and docket information.

Ability to work collaboratively while also operating independently and taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.

Sound judgment, practical decision-making skills, and the ability to remain effective under deadline pressure.

High level of professional integrity, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.

Strong client-service orientation and commitment to professional, courteous communication.

Adaptability and willingness to respond effectively to changing business and workflow requirements.

California: $57,000–$79,000 annually.

Colorado: $49,000–$68,000 annually.

Illinois: $54,000–$75,000 annually.

Jersey City, NJ: $50,000–$60,000 annually.

Maryland: $47,000–$59,000 annually.

Massachusetts: $57,000–$79,000 annually.

Minnesota: $48,000–$60,000 annually.

New York: $55,000–$66,000 annually.

Washington: $51,000–$62,000 annually.

Washington, DC: $59,000–$71,000 annually.
