Head of audit

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Head of Audit to lead the organization's internal audit function, strengthen internal controls, identify operational and financial risks, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities

Develop and oversee the internal audit plan and activities. Conduct audits of financial, operational, inventory, and business processes. Review internal controls and recommend improvements. Identify and investigate financial irregularities, fraud, and control weaknesses. Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Review inventory, cash handling, procurement, sales, and expense processes. Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings and recommendations to management. Follow up on implementation of audit recommendations. Lead and supervise the audit team. Provide management with insights on risks, controls, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree/HND in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field. 5+ years' relevant audit experience, with leadership or supervisory experience. Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, CIA, or equivalent is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of internal controls, risk management, and audit procedures. Excellent analytical, investigative, reporting, and communication skills. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail. Experience in a retail, FMCG, supermarket, or multi-branch organization is an advantage.
