About the role:

The Veterinary Eye Center of Massachusetts is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Newton. The practice is the first standalone referral ophthalmology practice of its kind in the area.

What We Offer:

$21 - $25/hr.

Four-day workweek, 7:30am to 5:30pm (Tuesday - Friday)

What You’ll Do:

Assist Doctors and Technicians in providing a seamless client and patient appointment experience

Handling and restraint of patients for consultation exams and patient sample collection

Handling and submission of patient samples to in-house and external laboratory

Thorough cleaning, organization, and stocking of appointment exam rooms and appointment treatment area

What We Require:

At least 1 year of hands-on experience as a veterinary assistant or professional experience in an animal handling environment such as groomers; day cares; etc

Confidence in Fear Free handling and restraint techniques with dogs and cats

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an ability to clearly communicate with clients as well as colleagues

The ability to adapt while maintaining a positive attitude

Highly evolved organizational skills with an acute attention to detail

The ability to work independently, responsibly, and ethically

A resourceful nature and creative problem-solving skills

An openness to feedback, coaching, and continuous learning

A commitment to the welfare of animals
