About Us STARK is a new kind of defence technology company revolutionising the way autonomous systems are deployed across multiple domains. We design, develop, and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are software-defined, mass-scalable, and cost-effective — providing operators with a decisive edge in contested environments. We are focused on delivering deployable, high-performance systems — not future promises. In a time of rising threats, STARK is bolstering the technological edge of NATO Allies and their Partners to deter aggression and defend Europe, today. About the team As the Test & Verification Engineer – Environmental, you are the technical expert and driving force behind the physical qualification of our systems under extreme conditions. You will not merely test isolated components; rather, you will be responsible for the holistic system qualification according to military standards. In our agile start-up environment, you won't just plan test campaigns from your desk—you will actively execute them in our lab or alongside external partners. Responsibilities Holistic Test Management: Independent definition, planning, preparation, and execution of environmental test campaigns Ideally fully Interdisciplinary Testing: Monitoring and evaluating system behavior under extreme conditions, taking mechanical, electrical, electromagnetic (EMC), and high-voltage (HV) aspects into account. Campaign Management: Selection, coordination, and technical supervision of external test labs and service providers, as well as the establishment and operation of in-house testing capabilities. Data Acquisition & Analysis: Utilization of data acquisition systems (DAQ) and specialized testing software for precise documentation and fault analysis. Troubleshooting & Design Feedback: Close collaboration with the R&D team (Electronics/Mechanics) to conduct immediate Root Cause Analyses (RCA) in the event of hardware or PCB failures during environmental tests, driving necessary design iterations. Qualifications Educational Background: A completed degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field. Norms & Standards: Deep knowledge of qualification according to military standards and ideally AECTP 200/400/600 (or MIL-STD-810 / MIL-STD-461). Or holistic automtive Testing Holistic Technical Understanding: You think across disciplines. In addition to environmental and mechanical testing (vibration/shock), you bring solid knowledge in the following areas: Electrical Engineering & PCB: Understanding of circuit designs and PCBs at the system level (even though the focus is on system testing, not pure PCB component testing). High Voltage (HV): Safe handling and practical experience with high-voltage systems. Electromagnetics (EMC/EMI): A foundational understanding of electromagnetic compatibility in military systems. Mechanical understanding of vibration, shock, thermal cycling, and humidity Nice to have Defense Experience: Proven experience in the military environment or defense industry. You understand the specific requirements, processes, and mindset of this sector. Start-up Mentality: You are a "doer." You are not afraid to grab a wrench or an oscilloscope yourself, you improvise in a solution-oriented manner when needed, and you thrive in an agile, fast-paced environment.
