Technical & Operations Manager Refrigeration Systems

To support our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Technical & Operations Manager to join our management team. The Technical & Operations Manager is responsible for the overall technical and operational management of the company. This role combines strong technical expertise with operational leadership and business management. The successful candidate will lead the technical team, oversee service and project activities, support customers, contribute to business development, and assist in achieving the company’s operational and financial objectives. The position requires extensive experience in refrigeration, air conditioning, HVAC systems, controls, electrical and mechanical services, combined with strong organizational, leadership, planning, and communication skills. Technical Management • Provide technical leadership and support for refrigeration, air conditioning, HVAC, ventilation, cold rooms, freezers, chillers, and VRV/VRF systems. • Review and approve technical designs, equipment selections, system sizing, and project solutions. • Support technicians with complex troubleshooting and fault diagnosis. • Advise on repairs, replacements, upgrades, and system improvements. • Review compressor replacements, refrigerant selections, electrical issues, airflow problems, control systems, drainage systems, and overall system performance. • Support commissioning, testing, start-up, and project handovers. • Ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements, engineering standards, and company quality procedures. • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring failures and implement long-term corrective actions. Operations Management • Plan, organize, and manage the daily, weekly, and monthly activities of the service and project departments. • Develop and monitor work schedules for technicians, supervisors, and subcontractors. • Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials. • Monitor project progress and ensure deadlines are achieved. • Oversee preventive maintenance contracts and service agreements. • Ensure emergency call-outs are handled professionally and efficiently. • Improve response times, first-time fix rates, productivity, and overall service quality. • Develop and maintain operational procedures, checklists, and reporting systems. Commercial & Project Responsibilities • Conduct client visits, site surveys, technical audits, and project meetings. • Prepare, review, and follow up on technical quotations and project proposals. • Produce technical drawings, layouts, schematics, and project documentation. • Provide technical support to the sales team during tendering and project development. • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients. • Identify opportunities to improve services and support business growth. Financial & Business Management • Participate in the preparation and monitoring of company budgets. • Assist in monitoring and improving the company’s Profit & Loss (P&L) performance. • Monitor the profitability of projects, maintenance contracts, and service activities. • Control and optimize operational costs. • Support forecasting, budgeting, and business planning activities. • Contribute actively to the achievement of company objectives and strategic plans. Team Leadership • Lead, mentor, and develop technicians, supervisors, support staff, and subcontractors. • Promote professionalism, accountability, safety, and quality workmanship. • Identify training requirements and support employee development. • Conduct performance reviews and monitor employee performance. • Foster a positive, professional, and results-oriented working environment.

• Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Refrigeration, HVAC, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. • Minimum 3-5 years of management experience within refrigeration, HVAC, or building services. • Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, air conditioning, HVAC, VRV/VRF systems, chillers, cold rooms, and ventilation systems. • Knowledge of controllers, sensors, automation systems, programming interfaces, and control technologies. • Strong understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. • Experience preparing quotations, technical drawings, and project documentation. • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Fluent English, both spoken and written. • Valid driving licence.
