About the Position: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is located at Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center, Ft Meade, MD.

Major duties

  • Manage HTM operations to ensure medical equipment is safe, reliable, compliant, and mission-ready.
  • Supervise military and civilian personnel; assigns work, evaluates performance, manages leave, and supports hiring and training.
  • Lead medical equipment life-cycle management, monitors compliance data, and supports Joint Commission and Environment of Care requirements.
  • Develop and manages the medical maintenance budget, procurement, resource reporting, and customer training.
  • Maintain inspection and audit readiness; coordinates equipment support with logistics, facilities, information management, contractors, and safety programs.
  • Provides technical oversight for maintenance, testing, upgrades, recalls, repairs, and disposition of complex medical equipment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes lead medical equipment maintenance operations; ensure equipment safety, reliability, and compliance and manage budgets, purchasing, inspections, and readiness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
