Commercial real estate—including office buildings, logistics facilities, and shopping centers—is one of the largest asset classes in the world. Tokyo holds the largest stock of institutionally owned commercial real estate globally, making Japan one of the world's most significant markets. Despite its scale, much of the industry's information remains fragmented and inaccessible, creating barriers to better investment decisions and urban development.
What if people around the world could recognize the true value of Japan's cities and allocate resources based on reliable data? We believe this could unlock new economic opportunities and help create globally competitive cities.
At estie, we are transforming the commercial real estate industry by making information, operations, and transactions more seamless through technology and data. To accelerate this mission, we launched the Real Estate AI Lab in January 2025.
The Real Estate AI Lab combines estie's proprietary real estate data and software platforms with cutting-edge AI technologies to develop solutions for leasing, investment sales, and urban development. We are currently building AI-powered rent appraisal systems and real-estate-specific AI agents, helping create opportunities and efficiencies that were previously impossible through traditional approaches.
We're looking for engineers who are excited about combining large-scale real estate data with AI to build the next generation of industry-changing products.
About the Role
The Real Estate AI Lab consists of two primary roles: Algorithm Engineers and Software Engineers.
While Algorithm Engineers focus on researching and developing AI models, Software Engineers focus on delivering those models to users through reliable, scalable software products. The two roles work closely together and often overlap, jointly creating the value behind our AI-powered products.
As a Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in transforming research outcomes into production-ready systems and customer-facing products.

Contribute to work that may lead to conference presentations, research publications, or patent applications
Responsibilities
Productionizing AI Systems
Design and implement systems that reliably operate machine learning models and data pipelines in production environments
Build and maintain MLOps infrastructure, including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting systems
Collaborate with other product teams to integrate AI capabilities into customer-facing applications
Product Development
Work closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI-driven solutions
Lead product planning and development from PoC through MVP
Continuously improve products with a strong focus on customer value and business impact

Software Engineering
Extensive software development experience
Strong foundation in software engineering principles
Experience leading improvements to system reliability, scalability, maintainability, or code quality
Experience evaluating and selecting architectures and technologies based on business needs
Proficiency across multiple programming languages and technical domains
Collaboration & Product Development
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, designers, and engineers
Experience driving projects from proof-of-concept through production delivery
Strong ownership and execution skills in fast-moving environments
Preferred Qualifications
AI & Machine Learning
Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs)
Experience integrating and utilizing APIs such as ChatGPT API and other foundation models
MLOps & Infrastructure
Experience designing and operating MLOps environments
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD systems for machine learning applications
