Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Controller to support our engineering organization. This individual will assist the engineering teams and management in planning and tracking the complex projects associated with building our first-of-its-kind biorefinery.

The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Microsoft Project and experience working in hardware-focused, EPC, or industrial project environments. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining integrated project schedules, coordinating across the organization, and ensuring alignment between project timelines, deliverables, and execution. This role is based at our Salt Lake City headquarters, with the expectation that the majority of work is performed on-site.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and continuously improve detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project

Build and manage integrated master schedules across multiple concurrent projects

Coordinate closely with engineering, operations, procurement, project development, and external EPC partners to align timelines and dependencies

Track engineering and project development resource allocations across individuals, teams, and project workstreams

Monitor project progress, identify schedule risks/conflicts, and proactively communicate impacts to stakeholders

Meet regularly with external EPC partners to inform internal master schedules (progress updates, schedule integration, etc.)

Maintain schedule baselines and track variance against plan

Facilitate regular schedule review meetings and provide clear reporting on status, risks, and critical path items

Support project planning efforts including scope definition, work breakdown structures (WBS), and milestone development

Identify resource constraints and assist leadership in prioritization and sequencing of work

Interface with procurement and construction schedules to ensure alignment with engineering deliverables

Maintain accurate documentation of schedules, assumptions, and changes

Confers regularly with management and project stakeholders throughout a project’s lifecycle

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree relevant to role or significant additional highly relevant experience.

Technical relevant degree a plus (Engineering, Construction Management, etc)

5–9 + years of experience in project scheduling, preferably in industrial, EPC, manufacturing, or hardware development environments

High proficiency in Microsoft Project (required)

Strong understanding of scheduling concepts including critical path, float, dependencies, and resource loading

Experience supporting engineering-driven projects with cross-functional coordination

Familiarity with EPC workflows, construction sequencing, and procurement timelines

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams

Experience with MS office suite

Physical Demands:

Frequent lifting and moving of items up to fifty (50) pounds*, bending, reaching above shoulder level, climbing stairs, pulling, prolonged standing or sitting may be required. Must have safe work habits and perform all duties in accordance with company safety policies. Personal protective equipment is provided by the company, and its use is mandatory.
