My client is looking for an experienced Solicitor or Qualified CILEX Lawyer to join our busy and growing Wills & Probate Department in their Bolton office. Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own caseload of Private Client matters from instruction through to completion.
Advise clients on:
- Wills
- Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
- Probate and Estate Administration
- Court of Protection matters
- Testamentary trusts and related estate planning matters
- Draft Wills, LPAs and other Private Client documentation.
- Prepare and submit Probate Registry applications.
- Support and supervise members of the team, providing guidance and mentoring where appropriate.
- Deliver a compassionate, professional service to elderly, vulnerable and bereaved clients.
- Attend client appointments at the office, in care homes and at clients' homes where required.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure effective file management.
- Prepare correspondence and legal documentation to a high standard.
- Ensure work is completed efficiently and within agreed timescales.
- Contribute to the continued development and success of the department.
- Take an active role in your own professional development and continuous learning.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor or CILEX status.
- A minimum of 3 years' PQE (or equivalent experience).
- Strong technical knowledge of Wills, LPAs, Probate and Estate Administration.
- Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act.
- Experience advising on testamentary trusts and wider estate planning matters.
- STEP qualification or working towards STEP accreditation would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Experience supervising or mentoring colleagues.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
