Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Engineering Support
- Review and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable/harness drawings.
- Support connector, terminal, and wire selection based on electrical and mechanical requirements.
- Assist with circuit continuity, wire gauge/current-carrying capacity, and grounding/shielding considerations.
- Support design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews for harness and box build assemblies.
- Create and maintain assembly work instructions, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective action for electrical/technical production issues.
Project Support
- Support customer projects from quotation through prototype, NPI, and production launch, under the direction of the Engineering Lead.
- Help develop and maintain project schedules, task lists, and status trackers.
- Track deliverables, open action items, and milestone dates; flag risks and delays proactively.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, quality, and procurement to keep projects moving.
- Prepare status updates and materials for internal and customer project reviews.
- Support processing of engineering change requests (ECO/ECN), including documentation and implementation tracking.
Manufacturing & Quality Support
- Support process development and improvement for harness manufacturing and box build assembly.
- Assist with first-article inspections, testing, and validation of new builds.
- Support PFMEA, risk assessments, and process validation activities.
- Help identify and implement continuous improvement, Lean, and quality initiatives on the production floor.
- Support IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards during builds and inspections.
Customer & Supplier Coordination
- Participate in customer and supplier meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions as needed.
- Assist with component and supplier technical evaluations under the guidance of the Engineering Lead.
- Support documentation for customer audits and regulatory/compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in an electrical engineering role, ideally involving wire harness, cable assembly, box build, or electro-mechanical products.
- Working knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and basic circuit principles.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional and customer-facing interaction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting NPI (New Product Introduction) or prototype-to-production transitions.
- Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 wire harness workmanship standards is a plus.
- Exposure to project management tools or methodologies (e.g., MS Project, Agile, PMP fundamentals).
- Familiarity with CAD or E3 software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar).
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement practices.
