Service Engineer, Marine Mechanical

About the team The incumbent needs to provide technical service support for ZF Marine mechanical systems onboard vessels and in shipyards, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Provide technical support for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of ZF Marine systems, including conducting inspections and diagnosing mechanical and electro-mechanical issues. Execute field service assignments independently across local and regional locations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within agreed schedules. Maintain compliance with ZF quality standards, safety requirements, service procedures, and customer expectations, while preparing accurate service documentation and reports. Collaborate effectively with customers, shipyard personnel, vessel crews, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support project execution. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying spare parts requirements, sharing technical expertise, recommending process enhancements, and assisting with other service-related activities as required. Requirements Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline. At least 5 years of relevant experience in marine mechanical systems, shipyards, or field service operations. Familiarity with marine propulsion systems, thrusters, shaft lines, and related mechanical equipment. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Word. Able to work independently and troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Willing to travel regularly for service assignments.
