INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR

Major duties

• You will assign work to subordinates and instructs them on work requirements, methods, tools and equipment needed, defining the standards of quantity and quality to be met.
• You will supervise employees in shop or aboard ship performing complex work to ensure compliance with technical directives.
• You will review work while in progress and on completion, changing work plans, work assignments and methods as necessary to reduce or control costs, radiation exposure and maintain schedule.
• You will set priorities based on work plans.
• You will continually evaluate and improve operational effectiveness by studying work methods, and recommending changes to increase efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
