About the Position: Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 1 year 1 day. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

Major duties

  • Review incident reports for accuracy and compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate emergency responses with internal and external agencies to maintain public safety.
  • Monitor communication systems to provide real-time support to patrol units.
  • Train new officers on law enforcement procedures to enhance team performance.
  • Direct police operations to ensure timely response to emergencies across the installation.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes:1) Conducting law enforcement patrols to identify violations of federal, state, or military regulations; 2) Preparing incident reports to document criminal activities or complaints accurately; 3) Responding to emergency calls to provide immediate support or de-escalation; AND 4) Guiding junior officers in patrol procedures to ensure compliance with regulations. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
