The Role

We are seeking for an experienced Chief Engineer to lead our dynamic team at the Maintenance Department. The successful candidate will bring a strong leadership presence, a commitment to excellence, and a deep understanding of luxury hospitality Maintenance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Run the day-to-day affairs of the maintenance department.

Develop and implement a comprehensive program for preventive maintenance and initiate all scheduled preventive maintenance procedures.

Responsible for ensuring the repairs and maintenance of all operational equipment in the hotel.

Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the maintenance department

Develop a yearly preventive maintenance program

·      Ensure the storage and taking of inventory of spare equipment parts.

·      Ensure that all incoming and outgoing maintenance items and equipment are registered properly.

Determine repair work priorities and see to their execution on a timely basis.

Coordinate with the Security Manager to undertake fire and safety training for all employees of the hotel.

Responsible for setting up and maintaining ongoing skills training and development in the maintenance department. Such trainings must be carried out on a regular basis to equip employees with the requisite skills for work.

Responsible for checking the quality of purchased machines, equipment, paints, oils, lubricants, grease and other tools and instruments needed for work in the engineering department.

Manage and control the payroll and operational costs of the maintenance department, making sure all costs are within budget.

About You

Minimum experience -    5 to 10+ years in a direct leadership or supervisory role managing engineers and technical staff within a 5 or 4-star resort or luxury hotel environment.

·       Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, electronics, civil engineering, or facilities management.

·       Master’s degree in engineering, business, or engineering management (is an advantage)

Leadership: Ability to mentor teams, direct field engineers, and organize training.

Project & Budget Management: Skill in controlling expenses, meeting deadlines, and negotiating with outside vendors.

Compliance & Safety: Deep knowledge of local regulatory standards, health codes, and environmental guidelines.

Communication: Clear verbal and written skills to report to executive boards and coordinate across departments.

Strong financial acumen and operational management skills. Impeccable attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
