Ophthalmologist

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive ophthalmic examinations and clinical assessments.

Diagnose and manage common and complex eye conditions.

Perform appropriate ophthalmic procedures based on qualifications and clinical privileges.

Evaluate patients with acute and chronic eye conditions.

Develop individualized treatment plans and explain treatment options clearly to patients.

Prescribe and monitor medications and other appropriate therapies.

Perform or assist with minor ophthalmic procedures where appropriately credentialed.

Identify cases requiring surgical intervention and coordinate referrals when necessary.

Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records.

Collaborate with optometrists, nurses, technicians, and other specialists.

Provide appropriate follow-up and continuity of care.

Participate in quality improvement, clinical governance, and patient safety initiatives.

Maintain compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and facility policies.
