About the Role
A well-established General Agency in the Tri-State area is seeking an Underwriting Specialist to join its team in a full-time, on-site capacity.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Employee Benefits or a related field (US Based).
- English C1
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially:
Responsibilities
- Gather census, claims, and plan information from current clients.
- Prepare accurate and detailed client presentations using Excel and other reporting platforms.
- Organize and submit requests to insurance carriers.
- Manage the RFP (Request for Proposal) process, including:
- Tracking carrier questions.
- Coordinating carrier responses.
- Ensuring compliance with deadlines.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance carrier sales representatives.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of:
- Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
- Industry terminology, regulations, and best practices.
