Shropshire Wildlife Trust is seeking two Farm Advisors to support the delivery of the ambitious Shropshire Hills Landscape Connections programme.

Landscape Connections is a partnership project bringing people, nature and heritage together to create a more connected and resilient landscape for future generations. Led by the National Trust and supported by key partners including Shropshire Wildlife Trust, Shropshire Hills National Landscape Team and Severn Rivers Trust, the project will tackle climate change, biodiversity loss and barriers to accessing nature across the Shropshire Hills National Landscape.

What you will be doing:

As a Farm Advisor, you will work directly with farmers and landowners to deliver Whole Farm Plans and Farm Water Audits, helping businesses identify practical opportunities to improve climate resilience while supporting wildlife and sustainable land management.

You will play a key role in developing and testing a new Climate Resilience Audit methodology, combining best practice in farm planning, water management and the latest climate science. Through farmer engagement, site visits and collaborative working, you will support landowners to identify opportunities for environmental improvement and help develop river and wetland restoration projects that will contribute to a more resilient landscape.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with agricultural advisory experience who is passionate about working with farmers to deliver positive outcomes for nature, climate and local communities.

The Trust is committed to building an equal, diverse and inclusive workforce we encourage applications from a diverse range of suitably qualified candidates. Please let us know if you require any adjustments to make our recruitment process more accessible.

About us:

Shropshire Wildlife Trust (SWT) has a vision of a thriving natural world, where Shropshire's wildlife and natural habitats play a valued role in addressing the climate and ecological emergencies, and people are inspired and empowered to take action for nature. We combine projects across Shropshire (including Telford & Wrekin) with advocacy and campaigning to restore nature and to engage people. We manage over 40 nature reserves and have almost 50 staff, 300 volunteers, and over 9000 members. SWT is an autonomous charity, but we are increasingly working collectively, as part of The Wildlife Trusts (TWT), to ensure that our local actions have a national impact and help to address global issues.
