POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Senior Business Analyst at RioCan, you will play a critical role in understanding and translating business needs into actionable requirements, ensuring the successful delivery of projects. This role requires strong expertise in Business Analysis and relationship management. You will collaborate with other business analysts, developers, and project managers to deliver high-quality solutions to our business stakeholders.

This 12-month contract opportunity is also open to Independent Contractors

RESPONSIBLITIES: Gather and document business requirements and gap analysis.

Mentor and guide other Business Analysts on the team.

Work on multiple projects and assist in documenting Business Analysis templates.

Identify and communicate risks and impacts and propose risk mitigation options, considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.

Document Business Case document to capture cost, benefits, resources, ROI, and timelines to gain approval on opportunities.

Act as the IT owner for opportunities that are logged in IT demand and perform the required analysis.

Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis; building, developing, and growing business relationships vital to the success of the project.

Evaluate new IT requests and evolving business requirements and recommend appropriate systems, alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems by analyzing business processes, systems and industry standards.

Identify Business/customer's needs and problems, create solutions, and translate these solutions into the appropriate information for the project team.

Understand project scope and prepare specifications, use cases and detailed requirement documentation based on business partner interviews for developers and end users.

Document current and future state diagrams for projects.

Document user training guides and conduct user training.

Provide input during development and implementation phases, including formulation and definition of systems scope, objectives and necessary system enhancements for complex, high-impact projects.

Consult with business stakeholders to determine system functional specifications and partner with multiple management teams and other units to meet organizational objectives.

Provide in-depth and sophisticated analyses with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions and influence strategic functional decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in financial and business analysis and is proficient in using different methods of gathering of requirements such as interviewing, data modeling and business process modeling.

7+ years of business analysis.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).

Previous experience working on large programs with multiple projects is preferred

Ability to translate business requirements into appropriate software architecture and design for development.

Strong customer facing communication skills, written and spoken.

Knowledge of ITIL principles and experience with Quality Assurance processes.

Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of business analysis.

Superior analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Experience with medium to large custom software application development projects.

Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and proven experience successfully interfacing with all levels of stakeholders.

Experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management is preferred.

Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

The base salary range for this role reflects compensation for candidates at varying levels of experience and proficiency. The salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant competencies, including skills, experience, education, and our teams’ requirements.
