Assistant SENCO (Key Stage 1)

A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Slouugh is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant SENCO to support pupils across Key Stage 1 . This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher with a passion for inclusion and special educational needs to join a supportive leadership team and make a real difference to children's outcomes.

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO, teachers, support staff, parents and external agencies to ensure that pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive the highest quality support. The role will involve a combination of classroom teaching, intervention support, monitoring pupil progress and contributing to SEND provision across the school.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) .
  • Experience of teaching or supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) .
  • A strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Experience of writing, reviewing or contributing to support plans and SEND documentation.
  • A commitment to ensuring every child achieves their full potential.
