Senior Tax Manager | £65k-£75k + benefits + hybrid working

The Opportunity

Join a £20m professional services group as one of the senior hires into the growing Accounting Practice.

This role would suit someone who has Qualified in Practice or someone with more senior experience - our client is open and there is support from the senior members of the team.

You'll own a broad mix Tax related work across a portfolio of SME and startup clients, work closely with the Director of Accounting and the Accounting Services Manager, and shape both the tax function and company culture.

What You'll Own

• Look after a portfolio of SME, start-up and owner-managed clients, handling their corporation tax, VAT and personal tax
• Prepare and review tax computations and returns, including CT600s, VAT returns and directors' Self Assessments, making sure they're accurate and comply with current legislation
• Spot tax planning opportunities for clients, such as the best mix of salary and dividends and the reliefs and allowances they can claim
• Advise new clients at on-boarding on the tax structure that best suits their circumstances
• Be the first point of contact for client tax queries, and refer complex or high-risk matters to the Head of Accountancy
• Help clients meet Making Tax Digital requirements for VAT and Income Tax
• Building internal tax guidance as the team scales
• Spotting opportunities to improve client outcomes and internal processes

Who You Are

• Specialist tax experience gained in a practice environment
• Strong cross-border/international tax knowledge
• Proven track record with SME, startup, or owner-managed clients
• Comfortable translating technical tax into practical business advice
