English Tutor
PUREON Education is looking for a dedicated and responsible English Tutor to join our teaching team. The successful candidate will provide English lessons to primary and secondary school students and support students in developing their reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct English lessons for primary and secondary school students.
- Prepare and deliver structured lessons based on students’ learning needs and abilities.
- Teach English grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing and oral communication.
- Support students preparing for school examinations and English-related assessments.
- Provide guidance for students preparing for examinations such as AEIS/S-AEIS, KET and PET, where applicable.
- Prepare lesson materials, exercises, homework and revision materials.
- Mark assignments and provide constructive feedback to students.
- Monitor students’ learning progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Communicate students’ progress and learning needs to the academic team and parents where required.
- Maintain a positive, engaging and supportive classroom environment.
- Assist with other academic and teaching-related duties when required.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in English, Education, Linguistics or a related discipline is preferred.
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Good understanding of English grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension and writing.
- Teaching or tutoring experience is preferred.
- Experience teaching primary or secondary school students would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with AEIS/S-AEIS, Cambridge English KET/PET or Singapore school English curriculum would be an advantage.
- Patient, responsible and able to communicate effectively with children and teenagers.
- Able to prepare lessons independently and adapt teaching methods according to students’ learning needs.
- Good interpersonal and classroom management skills.
Work Arrangement
- Conduct lessons at PUREON Education’s learning centre.
- Teaching schedule may include weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends, depending on class arrangements.
