Python Automation Engineer

Contract | Inside IR35 | London & Birmingham Hybrid | 3 Days Onsite

The Role We're looking for a hands-on Python Automation Engineer to build automation for a data masking solution within a financial services environment.

The focus is on writing Python code and integrating with REST APIs to automate masking workflows. You'll build scripts and services that trigger masking jobs, monitor their progress, handle errors and exceptions, and process the resulting outputs.

This is primarily a Python development and API integration role , rather than a traditional Data Engineering or platform configuration position.

Contract Details

Location: London & Birmingham - Hybrid, 3 days onsite Contract: Until late December - Strong possibility of extension IR35: Inside IR35 Start: ASAP

Must Have

• Strong hands-on Python development , particularly scripting and automation
• Strong REST API development/integration , including authentication, sessions, retries and exception handling
• ETL / data pipeline development experience
• Experience automating workflows, triggering jobs, monitoring status and handling outputs programmatically
• Experience working in regulated environments

Nice to Have

• Data masking / PII experience
• Informatica IDMC/IICS familiarity
• Git / CI/CD experience
