I am currently partnering with a complex, international technology-led business to appoint an experienced Job Architecture an Org Design for a critical organisation design project.
This is a specialist assignment focused on job architecture, role levelling, career frameworks and organisation design .
The successful individual will lead the design and implementation of a scalable job architecture framework that will underpin future career development, reward, workforce planning and organisational effectiveness initiatives across the organisation.
The Assignment
As the lead on this project, you will assess the current landscape and create a practical, scalable framework suitable for a complex, fast-growing global business operating across multiple disciplines, functions and geographies.
You will be responsible for establishing clear role architecture, job family structures, levelling methodologies and governance processes that can be owned and maintained by the People team beyond the duration of the engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess existing job architecture, role design and levelling practices.
- Design a consistent and scalable job architecture framework.
- Build job family structures across multiple functions and disciplines.
- Develop role levelling principles and assessment criteria.
- Create initial career framework concepts and progression pathways.
- Establish a practical benchmarking methodology aligned to the architecture framework.
- Define governance, ownership and maintenance processes.
- Partner with senior business leaders and People stakeholders to gain alignment and buy-in.
- Deliver pragmatic solutions suitable for a rapidly evolving business environment.

Job Architecture
- A clearly defined and agreed job architecture framework.
- A structured job family model across the organisation.
Levelling Framework
- Consistent levelling principles.
- Clear role assessment criteria and level definitions.

Benchmarking Methodology
- A practical and scalable approach to role benchmarking aligned to the architecture framework.

Candidate Profile
Essential Experience
You will have personally led and delivered organisation-wide job architecture and levelling programmes, including:
- Job architecture design
- Job family development
- Career framework creation
- Levelling and grading methodologies
- Role architecture design
- Governance model development
- Organisation-wide implementation and stakeholder adoption
You must be able to demonstrate direct ownership of this work rather than experience operating within frameworks designed by others.
