Role Description The Vet Nurse role at Mishvet Services is a full-time, on-site position based in Accra. The Vet Nurse will assist veterinarians in routine examinations, surgical procedures, and treatments, ensuring animals receive safe, compassionate care. Daily responsibilities include monitoring patients before, during, and after procedures, administering medications, performing basic diagnostic tests, and maintaining accurate medical records. The role also involves educating clients on animal health, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions, as well as supporting general clinic operations such as maintaining cleanliness, preparing equipment, and managing supplies. The Vet Nurse will collaborate closely with the veterinary team to uphold high standards of clinical care and patient safety.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong Veterinary Nursing skills, including assisting with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures. Candidates should demonstrate excellent Animal Care and Pet Care skills, with a focus on welfare, handling, and stress reduction. Candidates should have foundational Anesthesiology skills, including monitoring vital signs and supporting safe anesthesia administration. Candidates should possess Laboratory Skills for sample collection, basic diagnostics, and accurate result documentation. Relevant veterinary nursing certification or diploma, or equivalent training, is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members. Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, prioritize tasks, and follow protocols accurately. Commitment to ethical animal care, continuous learning, and adherence to health and safety standards.
