Health, Safety & Environment Officer

Responsibilities:

Coordinate HSE activities across assigned project sites Conduct daily inspections of project sites and identify potential hazards Ensure the implementation of site HSE Plans and safety procedures Carry out risk assessments and enforce agreed preventive and corrective measures Monitor contractors' compliance with HSE requirements and ensure safe work practices Promote a positive safety culture across all assigned projects Prepare daily, weekly and monthly HSE reports Investigate incidents, prepare accident reports and recommend corrective actions Ensure compliance with all applicable HSE regulations, policies and standards.

Requirements

Minimum of an HND in Science, Engineering or Social Sciences (Minimum of Second Class Upper/Lower Division). 2–3 years' relevant HSE experience. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, ISPON, ISO 45001, ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 are an added advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills. High ethical standards and attention to detail. Ability to identify workplace hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
