Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Veterinary Nurse with a passion for dermatology to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will work alongside our dermatology specialist and experienced veterinarians in the assessment and management of a wide range of dermatological conditions, while providing specialised nursing support for advanced procedures including otoscopy, allergy testing and lasertherapy. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with complex and chronic cases while developing specialised clinical skills and expertise.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Support veterinary dermatologists during consultations, including patient preparation,client communication and assistance with diagnostic procedures such as skinscrapings, biopsies and cytology
• Administer prescribed medications and dermatological treatments, including oral, topical and injectable therapies, while monitoring patient response and progress
• Collect, prepare and process dermatological samples for in-house or laboratory testing, and assist with diagnostic follow-up care
• Educate and support pet owners on treatment plans, medication administration, at-homecare, dietary recommendations and long-term management of dermatological conditions
• Provide nursing support during procedures such as biopsies, mass or growth removals and other dermatological surgeries
• Ensure patient histories, treatment plans, diagnostic results and progress notes areaccurately documented and kept up to date
• Ensure dermatology equipment and treatment areas are appropriately cleaned, maintained and prepared, with instruments sterilised according to clinic protocols
• Provide general administrative and clinical support to the Dermatology department

Requirements

• At least 2 years of nursing experience, with small animal handling skills
• Prior experience in a dermatology or specialist veterinary setting is advantageous
• Strong client communication skills, with a compassionate and professional approach
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

• A strong interest and passion for veterinary dermatology
