Behaviour And Standards Officer

Kings' School Nad Al Sheba is seeking to appoint an exceptional Behaviour and Standards Officer to join our thriving secondary school from 24th August 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised, proactive and resilient professional to play a key role in maintaining the exceptionally high standards of behaviour, conduct and student culture that underpin life at a Kings' School.

Working closely with the Assistant Headteacher – Student Experience, Heads of Year, Safeguarding and Inclusion teams, the successful candidate will provide visible leadership across the school, ensuring that students consistently demonstrate our expectations of being ready, respectful and safe. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgement and the ability to build positive relationships whilst maintaining high expectations and supporting students to make successful behavioural and personal choices.

The role

The successful candidate will lead the day-to-day operation of the Reflection Room, respond to behaviour incidents, deliver restorative interventions and contribute to a positive school culture where every student is supported to succeed.

This is a highly visible role within the school and is suited to an individual who is calm under pressure, confident in managing challenging situations, committed to safeguarding, and passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

Support the consistent implementation of the school's behaviour policy, promoting high standards of conduct, punctuality, uniform and respect across the school.

Lead the day-to-day operation of the Reflection Room, ensuring students complete work, reflect on their behaviour and are supported to reintegrate successfully into lessons.

Respond to behaviour incidents and classroom call-outs, using effective de-escalation strategies to support staff and maintain a calm, safe learning environment.

Build positive relationships with students, providing mentoring, restorative conversations and behaviour interventions to improve engagement, self-regulation and personal responsibility.

Maintain a visible presence throughout the school, supervising key areas before school, during lesson changeovers, breaktimes, lunchtimes, detentions and after school.

Work closely with Heads of Year, Safeguarding, Inclusion and senior leaders to support student wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and the successful implementation of individual support plans.

Maintain accurate records of behaviour incidents, sanctions and interventions, contributing to behaviour analysis and communication with parents where appropriate.

Support the safe and effective operation of the school by assisting with visitor supervision, emergency procedures, educational visits, assemblies and other whole-school events.

Promote the values, culture and traditions of the United Arab Emirates, acting as a positive role model who demonstrates professionalism, integrity and respect at all times.

Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the responsibilities of the role as directed by the Head of Secondary or Assistant Headteacher – Student Experience.

Essential requirements

Be located in the UAE, as this is a local-hire position.

The ability to speak Arabic is an advantage.
