Electrician

Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, equipment, and systems. Read and interpret electrical drawings, diagrams, and technical specifications. Install lighting systems, switches, sockets, distribution boards, and electrical panels. Install and maintain electrical cables, conduits, trunking, and cable trays. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and carry out necessary repairs. Test electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper operation and safety. Perform preventive maintenance on electrical installations and equipment. Identify damaged or defective electrical components and recommend replacements. Ensure electrical installations comply with relevant safety standards and project specifications. Use electrical testing instruments and hand tools safely and correctly. Work closely with engineers, technicians, plumbers, carpenters, and other construction workers. Maintain accurate records of electrical work, repairs, and maintenance activities. Keep tools and equipment clean and in good working condition. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Report electrical faults, safety hazards, and material requirements to the supervisor.

Requirements:

Proven years of practical electrical experience. Proven experience in construction, residential, commercial, or industrial electrical work. Good knowledge of electrical wiring, installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and diagrams. Proficiency in using electrical tools and testing equipment. Good knowledge of electrical safety standards and procedures. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Good attention to detail and quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physically fit and comfortable working at heights when required. Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines. Trade certification, apprenticeship, or relevant electrical qualification is an advantage.
