Software Engineer - Backend Engineer

Accountabilities: Design, develop, deploy, and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices, taking full ownership from initial concept through production support.

Build scalable, resilient, and high-performing distributed systems capable of supporting complex multi-cloud networking environments.

Leverage AI-powered development tools and modern engineering workflows to improve productivity, accelerate delivery, and enhance software quality.

Develop and maintain backend applications using technologies such as Java, Spring, Go, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and related cloud-native technologies.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve production services through on-call participation, incident resolution, telemetry analysis, and performance optimization.

Enhance existing services by identifying opportunities for refactoring, improving reliability, and expanding functionality while maintaining high engineering standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to design technical solutions, review code, and deliver high-quality software that aligns with customer needs.

Contribute to secure software development practices, ensuring distributed systems are reliable, scalable, and designed with security and operational excellence in mind.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Minimum of 2 years of professional backend software engineering experience with a proven ability to build and deliver production-grade applications.

Strong programming skills in Java with Spring Framework and Go, along with experience designing RESTful APIs and scalable microservices.

Solid understanding of distributed systems, multithreading, database schema design, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.

Experience working with Linux environments, containerization technologies, and Kubernetes deployments.

Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar solutions, with the ability to integrate them into daily engineering workflows.

Strong problem-solving abilities, software design skills, and a proactive approach to owning products throughout their lifecycle.

Security-first mindset with an understanding of building reliable, multi-tenant distributed applications.

Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across geographically distributed engineering teams.

Experience with networking technologies, cloud networking, SD-WAN, BGP, or related infrastructure concepts is considered a strong advantage.
