JOB SUMMARY

Our client is seeking a qualified, experienced, and safety-conscious Semi-Trailer Driver to join their transport and logistics team in Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating semi-trailer trucks to transport goods safely and efficiently to designated destinations, ensuring timely deliveries, proper cargo handling, and full compliance with Kenyan traffic laws and applicable NTSA requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate semi-trailer trucks and articulated vehicles to transport goods within Kenya and, where required, across East African borders.
• Ensure timely and safe delivery of cargo to designated destinations.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
• Ensure goods are properly loaded, secured, and protected throughout transportation.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, fuel consumption, mileage, and vehicle inspections.
• Strictly comply with traffic laws, speed limits, road safety requirements, and company policies.
• Report accidents, breakdowns, mechanical faults, and other incidents promptly.
• Maintain overall vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance requirements proactively.
• Coordinate effectively with dispatchers, transport supervisors, and customers regarding delivery schedules and routes.
• Maintain professionalism and high standards of customer service when interacting with clients.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Licence: Valid Kenyan driving licence, Category CE, authorizing the operation of heavy trucks with trailers or semitrailers.
• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience driving semi-trailer or articulated heavy commercial vehicles.
• Documentation: Valid identification and all relevant driving/transport documentation.
• Route Knowledge: Solid knowledge of Kenyan roads, major transport routes, and road safety regulations.
• Technical Skills: Practical knowledge of vehicle inspection, cargo securing, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Record Keeping: Proven ability to maintain accurate delivery logs and vehicle records.
