About you: You have a deep interest in how spaces tell stories and a background in experience design or architecture. You believe that every space begins with the story it needs to tell, and that this story should guide every decision that follows, from layout and circulation to materials, media, and the smallest details. You have led teams to take projects from concept to opening day, and you know how to keep that story intact as it passes through many hands and many stakeholders.

You do not simply manage deliverables. You take ownership of outcomes, and you do what it takes to see a project through, even when what is needed sits outside your job scope and comfort zone. You bring a can-do attitude to the team, are comfortable holding several projects and stakeholders at once, and you stay curious about learning new things along the way.

What will you be doing?

Experience & Interpretive Design:

  • Lead the development of experience and interpretive design for themed environments, museums, galleries, exhibitions, and destination attractions, shaping how the story of each space unfolds for visitors.
  • Develop the overall experience plan and the narrative for each zone, including the visitor journey, flow, and key moments that bring the story to life.
  • Identify the most suitable storytelling techniques and tools, whether physical,
  • multimedia, interactive, or immersive, in line with the project vision, challenges, and budget.
  • Create 3D renders, visualisations, and flythroughs that help clients and stakeholders see and experience the space before it is built.
  • Develop the design through to detailed design, ensuring that layout, circulation, scale, and atmosphere work together in service of the story.

Project Leadership & Delivery:

  • Lead projects from concept to successful launch while keeping timelines, deliverables, and quality on track.
  • Anticipate design and implementation risks early, such as technical feasibility, fabrication constraints, or budget pressures, and guide the team through them.
  • Guide specialists and collaborators across content, graphics, multimedia, lighting, and fabrication so that every element stays true to the experience concept.

Stakeholders & Team:

  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, present concepts clearly and convincingly, and develop proposals and pitches that secure new projects.
  • Lead and mentor junior team members, and step in to support the wider team wherever needed to make each project a success.

What are we looking for?

Experience and Track Record:

  • A degree in Architecture, Spatial Design, Experience Design, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of working experience in experience design and themed
  • environments, with at least the last 3 years spent leading teams and bringing projects from concept to successful launch.
  • A strong portfolio of realised projects in themed environments, museums, exhibitions, attractions, or similar visitor-facing spaces, with a clear account of your role in each.
  • Proven experience managing teams on projects with many stakeholders, both internal, and external, and keeping everyone aligned around a shared vision.
  • A sound understanding of the full project lifecycle, from concept and design development through to coordination with fabricators and contractors on site.
  • Proficiency in design and 3D visualisation tools (e.g. AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Enscape, Lumion, Twinmotion, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar), as well as AI tools for design and visualisation, with the ability to produce renders and flythroughs.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to present and defend design thinking to clients, partners, and senior stakeholders.

Mindset and Ways of Working:

  • A genuine passion for experience and interpretive design in themed environments, and the conviction that the story of each space is the starting point for every design decision.
  • A can-do attitude and a strong sense of ownership, with the drive to do what it takes to bring projects to a successful launch while handling multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • A curious and collaborative mindset, a willingness to learn new skills and tools, and a readiness to contribute wherever needed, even beyond your formal job scope.

For the right candidate, this role offers the opportunity to lead meaningful, multidisciplinary projects that engage real audiences, alongside a team that takes pride in its craft.

Due to the number of applications, we regret that we will only be able to contact shortlisted candidates. Thank you.
