About the Role We are seeking a motivated Automation Engineer to join our Industrial Development team. The role offers hands-on involvement in industrial automation, machine development, control systems, and continuous improvement, with exposure to modern and technically challenging automation technologies. The engineer will contribute to the development of new automation solutions as well as the improvement of existing systems, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver reliable, efficient, and innovative solutions that meet operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute industrial automation projects and build complete control systems for industrial machines, covering PLC, HMI, SCADA, electrical/control architecture, and industrial communication systems.

Take responsibility for the different stages of automation projects, including concept development, electrical/control design, programming, machine construction, installation, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and final validation.

Develop and review electrical control and wiring diagrams, and support the integration of electrical panels, sensors, actuators, motors, drives, instrumentation, and other control components.

Modify, troubleshoot, optimize, and improve existing control systems and automation solutions, identifying technical challenges and developing practical and innovative solutions to enhance performance, reliability, efficiency, and functionality.

Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and technical innovation, and translate them into effective engineering solutions.

Support the integration, programming, and commissioning of industrial robotics, motion control, vision systems, and other advanced automation technologies where applicable.

Ensure machine and automation solutions comply with applicable electrical, machine safety, and industrial safety standards.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including electrical drawings, I/O lists, software documentation, machine documentation, and project records.

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

2–4 years of experience working in an industrial environment with control systems.

Strong knowledge of Siemens PLC programming TIA portal and automation systems.

Good understanding of industrial electrical systems, control circuits, sensors, actuators, drives, motors, instrumentation, and electrical panels.

Experience with AutoCAD for electrical and control system design.

Good understanding of industrial communication and networking.

Knowledge of machine safety principles and applicable safety standards.

Familiarity with safety devices and safety-related control systems used in industrial machines.

Basic to intermediate knowledge of industrial robotics, including operation, programming, integration, and troubleshooting.

Understanding of motion control, variable speed drives, encoders, conveyors, and industrial instrumentation is an advantage.

Ability to read, understand, and develop electrical schematics, control diagrams, and technical documentation.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a self-learning and continuous-improvement mindset.

Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Good communication and technical documentation skills.

Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is considered an advantage.
