The Bold Forester, Mansfield
Assistant Manager
£31,000 - £35,000 + Bonus Ready to be part of something new and help take a great pub to the next level? The Bold Forester is currently going through an exciting investment and transformation , and we're looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to join the team ahead of our reopening on 30th October . With a brilliant team already in place, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make their mark, help build on the investment and play a key role in driving the business forward.
Why the Bold Forester? The Bold Forester is a welcoming local pub just outside Mansfield town centre, offering something for everyone. From hearty pub classics, steaks, pies and fish & chips to wings and Asian-inspired dishes, our menu is all about generous portions and great value. There's a lively bar, spacious beer garden, plenty of parking and EV charging — making us a popular choice for families, locals and groups. With the investment taking place now, you'll have the opportunity to help shape what comes next and build on the pub's potential alongside a strong existing team.
What's the opportunity? As Assistant Manager, you'll work closely with the General Manager to help lead the pub into its next chapter. You'll be a hands-on leader, working alongside the team to deliver great hospitality, build customer loyalty and make the most of the opportunities that come with the newly invested site. You'll be responsible for: Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the pub. Taking ownership of shifts and confidently leading the team. Working alongside the team on the floor and setting the standard for great service. Coaching, motivating and developing the existing team. Helping to embed high standards following the investment and reopening. Building strong relationships with customers and the local community. Driving sales and identifying opportunities to grow the business. Making sure the pub is delivering a great experience across food, drink and service. Maintaining high standards across cleanliness, safety, compliance and customer service. Supporting the General Manager in taking the business to the next level.
What we're looking for We're looking for someone who already understands hospitality and is excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of a business. You'll ideally have: Previous hospitality management experience. Experience working in a busy pub, restaurant or similar environment. Strong people leadership and communication skills. A hands-on approach and the confidence to lead from the front. The ability to motivate and develop an established team. A strong focus on customer experience and service standards. Commercial awareness and the drive to grow sales. The confidence to make decisions and take ownership of your shifts. Energy, enthusiasm and the ambition to progress your career with Greene King. Personal Licence: As this role may involve covering the business in the General Manager's absence, you'll need to be eligible to hold a Personal Licence. You don't need to have one when you apply. If you're successful, Greene King will support you through the process of obtaining your licence. The team is already there. The investment is happening. Now we need someone who can help bring it all together.
