Production Operations & Infrastructure Lead (Trading Systems)

ROLE PURPOSE
You will own the reliability of our production trading systems and the infrastructure they run on. You will work closely with traders, our in-house and vendor developers, clients, SGX colocation operations and service providers to resolve issues quickly and deliver changes safely.
OUR ENVIRONMENT
- Distributed, message-based architecture with services written mainly in Go.
- Desktop trading applications built on Electron.
- Infrastructure across SGX colocation, Microsoft Azure and client premises.
KEY PROJECTS IN YOUR FIRST 12 MONTHS
- Build out our new SGX colocation rack: equipment installation, fiber cross-connects, connectivity testing and go-live, using a newly completed leased line from our key client office.
- Lead the infrastructure and testing side of our migration to ITCH, including industry test sessions and production cut-over.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production operations
- Run system health checks and monitor availability, alerts and performance.
- Respond to issues reported by traders: assess impact, work with developers, and coordinate resolution and service validation.
- Maintain incident records, runbooks, escalation procedures and follow-up actions.
Infrastructure management
- Set up, maintain, tune and monitor servers, operating systems, networks, storage, internet connectivity and alerting across SGX colocation, Azure and client premises.
- Coordinate SGX colocation equipment installation, cross-connects, circuits, connectivity testing, and physical or network handoffs.
- Troubleshoot colocation and connectivity issues, working with SGX colocation operations, network providers, vendors, clients and internal teams through to resolution.
- Maintain network diagrams, circuit records and vendor contacts. Support capacity planning, security, backup and recovery.
Release quality and delivery
- Coordinate functional and non-functional work across in-house and vendor developers using practical Agile practices.
- Reproduce issues and test fixes from a trader's point of view, including replaying relevant scenarios before and after changes.
- Coordinate deployments, rollback plans and post-deployment checks. Keep change logs and documentation up to date.
Protocol migration and industry testing
- Plan and run testing for the migration to ITCH protocl, including connectivity, certification and regression testing.
- Represent the firm in exchange and industry test sessions, and coordinate fixes with developers and vendors.
- Plan and support cut-over and rollback for migration releases.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least 5 years' experience supporting production systems, including incident investigation and release coordination.
- Hands-on experience with servers, operating systems, networking, connectivity and monitoring tools.
- Experience with colocation or data centre operations, including physical installation and cabling.
- Experience supporting electronic trading systems, such as order routing, market data or execution platforms.
- Ability to test trading workflows and explain technical issues clearly to traders, developers and vendors.- Comfortable working independently in a small team and owning outcomes end to end.
GOOD TO HAVE
- Experience with SGX colocation or SGX connectivity.
- Experience with FIX or exchange-native trading protocols.
- Experience operating message-based or pub/sub systems (e.g. message queues, event streaming).
- Ability to read and debug Go services, including logs, builds and deployments.
- Experience supporting Electron or other desktop applications on trader workstations.
- Experience with low-latency networking or market data distribution.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with a previous exchange protocol migration.
