Tokyo holds the largest stock of institutionally owned commercial real estate globally, making Japan one of the world's most significant markets. Despite its scale, much of the industry's information remains fragmented and inaccessible, creating barriers to better investment decisions and urban development.

At estie, we are transforming the commercial real estate industry by making information, operations, and transactions more seamless through technology and data. To accelerate this mission, we launched the Real Estate AI Lab in January 2025.
The Real Estate AI Lab combines estie's proprietary data assets and software platforms with cutting-edge AI technologies to develop solutions for leasing, investment sales, and urban development. We are currently building AI-powered rent appraisal systems and real-estate-specific AI agents, creating opportunities and efficiencies that were previously impossible through traditional approaches.
We're looking for engineers who are excited about leveraging data and AI to fundamentally transform the real estate industry.
About the Role
As an Algorithm Engineer in the Real Estate AI Lab, you will serve as a data science and machine learning specialist responsible for leading research and development efforts that create the core value of our AI products.
You will deeply understand the characteristics of our data, select and implement the most effective algorithms, and collaborate closely with business teams to refine not only how problems are solved, but also which problems should be solved in the first place.

Responsibilities
Data Engineering and Infrastructure
Collect, analyze, maintain, and operate diverse real estate datasets
Design and build ETL pipelines
Perform data cleansing and feature engineering
Design and maintain data platforms and cloud infrastructure
Machine Learning and AI Research
Research and develop machine learning and deep learning models
Design and implement algorithms including regression, classification, and generative models
Optimize model performance for both online and batch inference systems
Investigate and apply the latest research papers, open-source technologies, and large language models (LLMs)
Product Development and Business Collaboration
Work closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI solutions
Lead product planning and development from PoC through MVP
Continuously improve products with a strong focus on customer value and business impact

Required Qualifications
Software Engineering
Strong software development fundamentals
Experience working in collaborative software development environments using tools such as GitHub
Experience developing tools or applications using scripting languages
Data Engineering & Analytics
Professional experience in data engineering or data analysis
Experience working with large-scale data processing platforms and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, etc.)
Experience building data pipelines and performing data analysis using SQL
Machine Learning
Practical experience developing machine learning or deep learning models
Experience building models using Python and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn
Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical methods
Language Requirement
Business-level to native-level Japanese communication skills for working with customers and internal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Generative AI & LLMs
Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs)
Experience utilizing APIs such as ChatGPT API and other foundation models
MLOps & Infrastructure
Experience designing and operating MLOps environments
Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

Experience using BI and visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI

Experience working in startups or building new products and businesses
