Technical Director (m/f/d) Renewables
Introduction
Elements Green is a British investor and developer of solar and battery storage projects, based in London (since 2008). The company supports projects from development through to operation and has an international presence with teams in the UK, Italy, Germany and Australia. As we continue to expand our project portfolio at elements green Deutschland GmbH, we are currently seeking a full-time Technical Director (m/f/d) for our Hamburg office to take overall technical responsibility for the development, planning and implementation of our battery energy storage projects (BESS), as well as for future projects in the field of renewable and emerging energy technologies (PV, hydrogen, data centres, hybrid solutions).
Tasks
Ensuring the technical compliance of all projects (including grid connection, permits, guidelines and standards) Approval and validation of technical concepts and designs Joint responsibility with the management team for establishing the technical department at the site in Germany – including team building and leadership Acting as a strategic sparring partner for the management team and the team on all technical matters Technical coordination with grid operators, planning consultancies, assessors and implementing bodies Development, review and approval of grid connection concepts for high- and medium-voltage connections Ensuring technical quality and standardisation within the project portfolios Close collaboration with internal departments and external partners (Development, EPC, Asset Management, Legal) Comprehensive technical overview of all ongoing projects, including risk assessment and involvement in decision-making processes Support for international projects in the areas of engineering and technical due diligence Presentation of project progress, technical concepts and status reports to the Board
Profile
A degree in electrical engineering, energy engineering, renewable energy or a comparable qualification Several years’ professional experience in the technical management of projects in the fields of renewable energy, energy storage, grid technology or related technologies In-depth knowledge of grid integration Experience in technical project management and in liaising with grid operators and regulatory authorities A structured, analytical approach to work and a strong technical understanding Confidence when working in interdisciplinary teams and delivering presentations at management level Willingness to undertake occasional business travel (domestic and international) Very good written and spoken German and English
