On behalf of our client operating in the public sector, we are looking for a Data Architect to participate in a strategic project to transform a monolithic application into microservice architecture, including the integration of external ICT modules.

You will be actively involved in addressing the challenges of migrating legacy data to a microservices-based, message-driven architecture.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and document data and application architectures aligned with the enterprise information system, using formal models to ensure consistency, scalability, and interoperability.
  • Define canonical and domain data models, and drive the migration of legacy datasets towards microservices-based, message-driven target architectures.
  • Enforce architectural principles, standards, and non-functional requirements (security, performance, resilience, compliance) across solutions.
  • Provide end-to-end architectural support throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and production.
  • Deliver hands-on technical expertise to development and architecture teams across modern platforms and toolchains (Java/Spring Boot, messaging, containers, CI/CD, cloud-native environments).

-

Produce and maintain high-quality architectural documentation and actively contribute to architecture governance bodies, design reviews, and technical steering committees.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Data Applicative Architecture with at least 10 years of experience in a similar role, ideally with a previous experience in the Belgian Public Sector.
  • Expert Data Modelling with a vision of organizing applications into microservices.
  • Familiarity with the following technologies: angular, Java, WebLogic, Fortify, Spring/SpringBoot, ActiveMQ Artemis, Docker/Kubernetes, Openshift, Gitlab-CI, ArgoCD, OIDC, OAuth2, Grafana, Kibana, OpenAPI, DevOps, CI/CD)
  • You can work in a multilingual environment, enabling both Dutch and French speaking colleagues to communicate in their own language.
