Class 1 Container Driver
Our client are an established expanding freight forwarding agent specializing in container transport and are committed to delivering reliable and efficient services to our clients. We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Container Driver to join our team on a self-employed basis.
Job Title: Class 1 Container Driver (Self-Employed)
Location: UB2
Salary: £50k...Daily rate £190 DOE per day/min 10 hours plus overtime when required. Weekend Overtime is also available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport containers to and from ports (Felixstowe), warehouses, and other locations.
- Airline Collections from Heathrow
- Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed on time and in line with company standards.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain accurate records of deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with the transport office and customers.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
- Experience in container driving is preferred
- Possession of port cards and relevant training is a plus, but not mandatory—training can be provided.
- Good knowledge of UK road networks and port operations.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance with driving regulations.
- Ability to work independently with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills.
